Humanoid Robot AgiBot X2 for Commercial Events and Audience Interaction
AgiBot X2 — is a humanoid robot for entertainment programs, presentations, and commercial performances. The design with 25 degrees of freedom allows for humanoid walking, dance sequences, body and arm movements with a movement speed of up to 1.8 m/s. For human interaction, it is equipped with an interactive RGB camera, a touch sensor on the head, microphones, and means for sound and mimicry reproduction. AgiBot X2 also has ready-made motion scenarios and can convey basic emotional reactions through gestures, sound, and facial expressions.
Main Advantages of AgiBot X2
- Humanoid Kinematic Scheme. The design of the body, upper and lower limbs provides high mobility due to 25 degrees of freedom in the basic version.
- Optimal Movement Speed. The platform is optimized for dynamic movement scenarios and demonstration missions with a maximum walking speed of up to 1.8 m/s and a typical working speed of up to 0.8 m/s inclusive.
- Functional Arm Work. The three-dimensional working space of the manipulator reaches 558 mm without considering the end effector, allowing for manipulation tasks with a load of up to 3 kg in fixed poses and up to 1 kg throughout the range of motion.
- Multimodal Interaction. The device recognizes visual, voice, and tactile signals and responds to them with movements. The interface includes an interactive RGB camera, a touch sensor on the head, a microphone array, a wireless microphone, and a speaker.
- Visual Information Display. Additional interaction channels display data during public performances and presentations. For this, the robot is equipped with an interactive screen and light signaling elements.
- Autonomous Operation. A 500 Wh battery pack provides up to 2 hours of continuous movement at a speed of 0.5 m/s.
- Efficient Energy Resource Recovery. The power compartment design supports hot battery swapping as well as direct charging lasting up to 1.5 hours.
- Flexible Control. Operational remote control is supported via a complete handheld controller, mobile software, and remote firmware updates using OTA technology.
Mechanics and Kinematics of AgiBot X2
The AgiBot X2 robot is built on a humanoid kinematic scheme with a total of 25 degrees of freedom. The active axes are systematically distributed across the body: each upper limb manipulator has 5 degrees of freedom, 3 degrees of freedom are integrated into the hip joint and waist, and each of the two lower limbs has 6 degrees of freedom.
Perception System and Multimodal Interaction
The humanoid robot AgiBot X2 is equipped with a set of tools for multimodal interaction with the user. The head part integrates an RGB camera and a touch sensor, while the audio system includes a microphone array, a wireless microphone, and a built-in speaker. For information display and visual feedback, an interactive display and light indication elements are provided.
Interaction with the user is implemented through visual, voice, tactile, and mimic channels. The robot conveys basic emotional reactions using movements, mimicry, and sound accompaniment, making communication more natural and understandable. The device's functional capabilities can be expanded and improved through wireless software updates.
Computational Platform and Control
The computational module is built on two RK3588 processor boards. The body features USB Type-A and USB Type-C connectors, as well as 12V/3A and 48V/5A power outputs. Additional network interfaces LAN and video outputs are not provided in this version.
For controlling the robot's functions, a handheld controller and a specialized application for motion control are provided. The system software supports wireless updates, allowing timely access to current features and improvements.
Power and Autonomy
The battery pack has a capacity of approximately 500 Wh. When walking at a speed of 0.5 m/s, the device operates without recharging for about 2 hours. The design allows for direct charging or quick battery replacement. The full charging cycle takes no more than 1.5 hours with an input voltage of 100–220 V and a charger output of 54.6 V 10 A.
The basic configuration does not have autonomous navigation and self-movement functions. To implement automatic movement and self-search for a charging station, the installation of an extended autonomous movement package along with the appropriate charging station is required.
Applications of AgiBot X2
- Commercial Performances. The robot can perform ready-made movements, humanoid walking, and dance programs in stage scenarios.
- Entertainment Programs. Body, arm, and head movements, sound, mimicry, and light effects are suitable for performances in front of an audience.
- Interactive Work with Visitors. The RGB camera, voice, and tactile channels allow for building scenarios of reaction to a person within standard functions.
- Presentations of Humanoid Robotics. X2 can demonstrate walking, gestures, dance movements, and basic emotional reactions.
- Scenarios with Basic Emotional Reactions. The robot reproduces them through actions, sound, and mimicry; the manufacturer claims further OTA updates of these functions.
- Autonomous Movement as an Additional Option. This mode requires an extended autonomous movement package for automatic charging; an optional charging station is also needed.

Recommendations for Using AgiBot X2
- Before starting, leave enough free space for walking, body turns, and arm movements considering the dimensions.
- For arm work, consider load limits: up to 3 kg is allowed only in certain poses, and throughout the working range — ≤ 1 kg without the end effector.
- Plan session durations considering approximately 2 hours of operation at 0.5 m/s walking speed, charging time ≤ 1.5 hours, and battery replacement possibility.
- For perception scenarios, consider the composition of basic sensors: interactive RGB camera and touch sensor on the head. 3D LiDAR and RGB-D camera are not installed in X2.
