Alpha White Resin for precise SLA printing of white models on Form Studio 1

Formlabs Alpha White Resin Cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1 L — a white photopolymer resin for SLA printing on the Form Studio 1 3D printer. It is part of the Alpha Resins family, which Formlabs created specifically for this platform. The material can be used for printing prototypes, models, and other products that require white coloring. Alpha White is not supported by Form 4/4B and Form 4L/4BL printers.

Alpha White Resin in the Form Studio 1 system

The material works with the standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank. The design of this tank is adapted to Alpha Resins and provides the operating mode intended by Formlabs without the need to switch to the Resin Tank Pro.

For Alpha White, two layer thickness settings are available in PreForm:

• 50 µm;
• 100 µm.

This allows you to choose one of the manufacturer-provided modes depending on the specific printing task.

Features of working with the cartridge

Form Studio 1 keeps track of the resin consumed during printing. The amount of material used is calculated based on the printed layers, and consumption information is recorded in the cartridge.

For Alpha Resins, Formlabs also claims a low odor level compared to typical photopolymer materials, making the work process more comfortable indoors.

Washing and curing

After printing, parts made from Alpha White Resin can be washed using the Formlabs Resin Washing Solution.

For Alpha Resins in Form Studio Wash+Cure, the initial settings are:

• 5 minutes washing;
• 5 minutes curing.

After printing is complete, Form Studio 1 displays the recommended post-processing time for the specific task.

Working with liquid resin

When in contact with Alpha White Resin in liquid form, Formlabs recommends using gloves and following the material safety data sheet instructions.

In the configuration Form Studio 1 + Alpha Resins + VOC Extractor, the system is certified to the UL GREENGUARD Gold standard for low chemical emissions. The certification specifically applies to the use of Alpha Resins on Form Studio 1 along with the VOC Extractor.
