Alpha Black Resin Formlabs for printing black models and prototypes on Form Studio 1

Formlabs Alpha Black Resin Cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1 L — a black photopolymer resin from the Alpha Resins line, specifically developed for the Form Studio 1 3D printer. The material is intended for printing models, prototypes, and other products in black. Alpha Resins work only with Form Studio 1 and are not compatible with Form 4/4B and Form 4L/4BL.

• Specifically developed for Form Studio 1. Alpha Resins are created as a separate line of materials for use with this printer.
• Layer thickness of 50 or 100 microns. For Alpha Black in PreForm, two layer thickness settings are available, allowing you to choose printing parameters according to the specific task.
• Optimized for the standard Resin Tank. The Form Studio 1 Resin Tank is designed for Alpha Resins and ensures fast printing and quality formation of supported surfaces.
• Automated resin tracking. Form Studio 1 tracks the amount of material used during printing and records this data in the cartridge.
• Low odor level. Formlabs claims the use of low-odor components for Alpha Resins, making working with the material more comfortable indoors.

3D Printing Features

Alpha Black Resin is used with the standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank. The Resin Tank Pro is not required for this material: the standard tank is optimized for the entire Alpha Resins line.

In PreForm, the available layer thickness for Alpha Black Resin is:

• 50 microns;
• 100 microns.

Post-processing

Products made from Alpha Resins are compatible with Formlabs Resin Washing Solution. For Form Studio Wash+Cure, the basic setting for Alpha Resins is 5 minutes of washing and 5 minutes of curing. After printing is complete, Form Studio 1 displays the recommended washing and curing time for the specific task.

Safe Operation

When working with Alpha Black Resin in liquid form, Formlabs recommends using gloves and following the recommendations of the relevant material safety data sheet.

The Form Studio 1 + Alpha Resins + VOC Extractor system is UL GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions. The certification applies specifically to this combination of printer, material, and filtration system.
