Alpha Clear Resin Formlabs for transparent models and prototypes on Form Studio 1

Formlabs Alpha Clear Resin Cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1 L — transparent photopolymer resin from the Alpha Resins line, specifically developed for the Form Studio 1 platform. The material is suitable for SLA printing of models, prototypes, and other products where transparency is important.

Transparency and printing modes

Alpha Clear has higher optical transparency compared to Clear Resin V5. This is one of the key features of the material among Formlabs transparent resins.

In PreForm for Alpha Clear, two layer thickness settings are available — 50 μm and 100 μm.

Working with Form Studio 1

Alpha Clear Resin is used with the standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank. The film of this tank is designed for Alpha Resins and provides the printing conditions intended for them. Resin Tank Pro for Alpha Clear is not required.

During operation, Form Studio 1 tracks resin consumption by printed layers and records information about the material used in the cartridge.

Alpha Resins are developed using low-odor components, making working with the material more comfortable indoors.

Post-processing after printing

Parts made from Alpha Clear Resin can be washed using the Formlabs Resin Washing Solution. For Alpha Resins in Form Studio Wash+Cure, the basic cycle is 5 minutes of washing and 5 minutes of curing.

After printing is complete, Form Studio 1 also displays the recommended washing and curing time for the specific task.

Safe handling of Alpha Clear Resin

When in contact with liquid resin, it is recommended to use protective gloves and follow the material safety data sheet requirements.

When using Form Studio 1 with Alpha Resins and VOC Extractor, the system is certified UL GREENGUARD Gold for low chemical emissions. The certification applies specifically to this combination of printer, material, and filtration system.
