PC plastic from MonoFilament is a linear polyester of aromatic alcohol and carbonic acid. The main advantage of this material is undoubtedly its high transparency. The harmonious combination of mechanical and optical properties allows the creation of computer elements, lenses, compact discs, and various lighting products (lamps, flashlights, etc.) from PC plastic.
Features of PC plastic MonoFilament
This material has a high melting temperature (around 150 °C). Absolute fluidity is achieved only at 280 – 300 °C. High strength and impact toughness allow the use of PC plastic from MonoFilament in various industries. In particular, it is in high demand for the production of protective helmets for extreme disciplines of motorcycle and bicycle sports. To improve the mechanical properties of the products, specialists often use compositions filled with fiberglass.
Other advantages of PC plastic from MonoFilament
- High rigidity and strength, resistance to impact effects, including reduced and elevated temperatures.
- Resistance to aqueous solutions of organic and mineral acids, oils, alcohols, gasoline.
- Compatibility with food products.
