Elastan D160 flexible plastic MonoFilament 0.75 kg 1.75 mm White
Elastan D160 is a soft and highly elastic engineering plastic, specifically developed for 3D printing products that require maximum flexibility. The Elastan material line from MonoFilament is represented by three types: hard D70 (similar to hard rubber), medium hardness D100, and soft D160 (similar to silicone). The D160 model combines the properties of a structural material with extraordinary stretchability. This filament is indispensable for creating seals and elements that operate under constant dynamic loads. Thanks to its structure, it provides excellent sealing and shock absorption even in very difficult operating conditions.
Material Advantages
- Exceptional elasticity. The material has the highest elongation rate in the line, allowing parts to return to their original shape after strong stretching.
- Chemical resistance. Products made of Elastan D160 can be confidently used in environments with oils, fats, gasoline, and non-concentrated solutions of acids or alkalis.
- Reliability under deformation. Parts withstand multiple cycles of bending and compression without microcracks, whitening, or delamination of the model.
- Hydro-abrasive wear resistance. The material demonstrates high resistance to friction and impact loads, which is important for moving soft components.
- Weather resistance. The plastic tolerates the effects of UV radiation and precipitation well, maintaining flexibility in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C.
Applications
In the Elastan line, the D160 version is the softest. Its technical properties are best suited for creating the following elements:
- Sealing parts: oil seals, gaskets, complex O-rings, and cuffs.
- Damping units: soft rollers, dampers, flexible couplings, and vibration-dampening spacers.
- Industrial components: parts for low-power machines, shafts, insulators, and protective coatings.
- Special packaging: original elastic containers, cases, and special shoe parts.
Technical Characteristics
For a stable result, we recommend using printers with a closed chamber. This ensures slow cooling and helps avoid deformation shrinkage of the material during printing.

Tips from 3DDevice Experts
- Control humidity. Like all polyurethane elastomers, Elastan D160 can absorb moisture from the air. We recommend storing spools in vacuum containers or zip-lock bags with a desiccant. If bubbles appear during printing or the filament becomes brittle, the plastic needs drying.
- Ensure geometric stability. Print in a closed 3D printer chamber. This will ensure uniform cooling of the prints. This condition is critical for maintaining the perfect shape of soft products and preventing their warping.
