Elastan D70 — flexible filament 1.75 mm
Elastan D70 is a high-hardness engineering flexible plastic designed for 3D printing wear-resistant nodes and mechanisms operating in challenging environments. The Elastan material line from Monofilament is presented in three types: hard D70 (similar to hard rubber), medium hardness D100, and soft D160 (similar to silicone). The D70 model combines the strength of a structural material with elasticity. This filament solves the problem of rapid wear of elements working under load in aggressive environments. Thanks to its high resistance to impact and friction, it is well-suited for industrial equipment where conventional rigid plastics become brittle and fail.
Advantages and Features
- Extreme Durability. The material retains its properties even under repeated loads. Products do not whiten at bends and maintain layer integrity.
- Resistance to Aggressive Environments. Parts made of Elastan D70 can be used in contact with gasoline, oils, fats, and non-concentrated solutions of acids or alkalis.
- Wide Temperature Range. The material operates stably at temperatures from -40°C to +120°C. This allows it to be used in both freezers and hot engine compartments.
- Impact Strength. Elastan D70 handles dynamic loads exceptionally well. It protects mechanisms from vibrations and dampens the impact of mechanical shocks.
- Weather Resistance. The plastic does not degrade under UV light or precipitation, allowing the use of printed parts outdoors.
Applications
In the Elastan line, the D70 is the hardest filament. It is best suited for products that need to maintain their shape under high loads.
- Industrial Nodes: pulleys, massive gears, rollers, and conveyor guides.
- Protective Elements: impact-resistant pads, bumpers, and durable enclosures for electronics.
- Transport and Equipment: oil seals, bushings, and gaskets operating in oily environments.
- Footwear Industry: production of wear-resistant soles and specialized shoe components.

Tips from 3DDevice Experts
- Control Humidity. Like all polyurethane elastomers, Elastan D70 can absorb moisture from the air. We recommend storing spools in vacuum containers or zip bags with desiccant. If bubbles appear during printing or strings become brittle, the plastic needs drying.
- Ensure Geometric Stability. Print in a closed 3D printer chamber. This will ensure uniform cooling of the prints. This condition is critical for large parts to prevent them from peeling off the bed or warping at the edges.
