Ortur LU2-4 SF Laser Module: High Precision for Engraving and Delicate Cutting
The Ortur LU2-4 SF laser module with an output optical power of 4.5–5.5 W is designed for installation onbranded Ortur engravers. Thanks to its compatibility, the model is suitable for upgrading machines of the OLM2 S2, OLM2 PROS2, OLM3, and OLM3 LE series. The main feature of the module is a short focal length of 30 mm and beam opticalcompression technology, which provide a fine laser spot size of 0.12 × 0.15 mm. This allows for detailedengraving of small elements on wood, leather, black acrylic, and marking stainless steel, as well as neatly cutting thin sheet materials.
Design Features of Ortur LU2-4 SF
- Laser Beam Compression Technology: The optical scheme focuses the beam into a fine spot size of 0.12 × 0.15 mm. Smaller focus point sizes ensure high energy density, necessary for cleartransmission of contours and small details during engraving.
- Short-Focus Optics: Thanks to a fixed focal length of 30 mm, the module createsa maximally concentrated spot on the surface, which is ideal for fine detailing and directmarking on stainless steel.
- Efficient Cooling: The aluminum housing with a built-in radiator provides quick heat dissipationfrom the laser diode. This maintains a stable operating temperature during long sessions and extends the overallservice life of the module.
- Protective Screen-Filter: The integrated shield made of tinted material blocks harmful radiation,protecting the operator's vision during work. The screen position is easily adjustable with knurled screwson both sides of the housing.
- Convenient Focus Adjustment: The fixed-focus design allows for quick manual adjustmentof the laser module height above the material using the included calibration block, ensuringpositioning accuracy without complex manipulations.
Material Compatibility and Processing Features
Materials for Cutting: paper, corrugated cardboard, thin leather, felt, fabric, as well as thin sheets of plywood,wood, and black acrylic.
Cutting Specifics: the optical power of 4.5–5.5 W and short-focus optics are designed for workingmainly with thin blanks. Unlike long-focus models, the LU2-4 SF does not come with an air nozzle (Air Assist),so cutting thick materials is not its primary purpose. The speed and clean cutting depth depend on the density, color, and internal structure of the material.
Optical Limitations: like all blue spectrum diode lasers with a wavelength of 445 ± 10 nm, thismodule cannot process transparent, mirror, or pure white acrylic. It is also not intended for directcutting or engraving on colored metals without coating (copper, brass, pure aluminum).
