Ortur LU3-40A Variable Laser Module: Dual-Pulse Diode Laser 40W

The Ortur LU3-40A laser module with a maximum optical output power 40 W is designed for installation on Ortur laser engravers. The model is compatible with machines of the OLM3, OLM3 LE, and F10 series. The module is used for high-speed cutting and deep engraving of wood, plywood, black acrylic, leather, as well as color marking of metals. The high power of 40 W is sufficient for through cutting of materials in one pass — for example, pine up to 20 mm thick, plywood up to 15 mm, or black acrylic up to 15 mm.

• Built-in Air Assist System: An integrated air tube optimized for use with a compressor effectively removes combustion products from the cutting area and reduces the amount of soot on the material by 50%.

Internal Structure and Functionality

Protective Window with Laser Filtration

The built-in protective screen with a special coating effectively blocks up to 97% of harmful laser radiation with a wavelength of 450 nm. This allows for safe observation of the work process and creates a protected working environment for the operator.

Note: Despite the presence of protective glass, the use of special protective goggles when working with the laser is mandatory.

Quick Focusing Mechanism

The module is equipped with a convenient flip-up stop for quick positioning. The design allows for precise adjustment of the required focal distance to the material surface in one simple motion, significantly saving time during work preparation.

Cooling System with Heat Pipes

High-efficiency thermal regulation is achieved through a combination of powerful coolers and copper heat pipes. This engineering system quickly dissipates heat from the diode matrix and lowers the overall operating temperature of the module, ensuring its stable operation without power loss even during long and continuous cutting sessions.

Self-Cleaning Protective Glass with Airflow

The innovative internal blowing system uses part of the air from the cooling ventilation channel during device operation. A powerful directed airflow continuously cleans the internal chamber and protective lens glass, preventing the deposition of dust, soot, and smoke, which could impair focusing accuracy and optical transmission capacity.

Material Compatibility and Processing Features

• Materials for Work: Wood, plywood, MDF, black and colored opaque acrylic, leather, paper, cardboard. The module is also ideal for engraving and multicolor marking of stainless steel, anodized aluminum, and metals with special coatings.
• Cutting Specifics: Optical power of 40 W allows confident cutting in one pass of pine up to 20 mm thick, plywood up to 15 mm, and black acrylic up to 15 mm, as well as sheet stainless steel up to 0.3 mm thick. The maximum cutting thickness directly depends on the density, fibrousness, and color of the blank.
• Optical Limitations: The diode laser operates in the visible blue spectrum with a wavelength of 450 nm. The module is not intended for cutting transparent, white, or mirror acrylic, nor for direct through cutting of pure colored and black metals (copper, brass, untreated aluminum, etc.).
