Humanoid Robotic Platform Unitree G1-D Standard C-U3 with Dex3-1 Tactile Hands
Unitree G1-D Standard C-U3 is a research robotic complex with a fixed base, designed for data collection, model training, and testing interaction algorithms with physical objects. The platform is equipped with two seven-axis arms, Dex3-1 tactile hands, a lifting column, and a machine vision system. The configuration provides 31 degrees of freedom and supports the complete workflow of dataset preparation, model training, and model deployment directly on the platform.
Features of Unitree G1-D Standard C-U3
- Special configuration with Dex3-1 hands. The C-U3 version retains the equipment of the basic G1-D Standard platform but uses two three-fingered Dex3-1 hands instead of the Dex1-1 end effectors. They combine force control, tactile perception, and built-in RGB cameras, expanding data collection capabilities during interaction with objects.
- 66 tactile control points on two hands. Each hand has 33 tactile sensors that register contact during the capture, holding, and movement of objects. Such data can be used for manipulation research, algorithm tuning, and training set preparation.
- Combination of visual and contact data. The binocular camera of the main module provides an overview of the work environment, wrist cameras provide an overview of the manipulation area, and cameras in the hands obtain a local image directly near the object. This allows combining visual data about the work scene with information about physical contact.
- Stationary design with variable working height. The G1-D Standard C-U3 has a fixed base without a drive chassis, allowing it to be placed in a permanent research or production cell. The lifting column with a speed of approximately 60 mm/s provides access to work surfaces located at different levels.
- Coordinated control of the body, arms, and fingers. The overall kinematic system has 31 degrees of freedom: 14 in two arms, 2 in the waist module, 1 in the lifting column, and 14 in two Dex3-1 hands.
Functional Capabilities of Unitree G1-D Standard C-U3
- Transferring algorithms from simulation to the physical platform. Users can pre-recreate a work scenario in a three-dimensional environment, test the model's behavior, and then export and deploy it on the robot for practical testing.
- Preparation of datasets for robotic models. The system covers data collection, labeling, uploading, verification, storage, and export. This allows organizing a consistent process of preparing training samples within a single sequential workflow.
- Managing research tasks. The software environment allows creating projects and operation templates, assigning tasks to performers, controlling their execution status, and reviewing execution results.
- Simulation testing and deployment on the robot. Users can evaluate the model's behavior in a three-dimensional simulation environment, adjust its parameters, and then export and deploy the model on the physical platform.
- Scaling data collection processes. The system architecture is designed for parallel operation with a large number of robotic platforms, load distribution, and continuous data stream reception.
Design and Safe Operation
The Unitree G1-D Standard C-U3 has power drives and a complex multi-axis design. During operation, it is necessary to restrict access to the work area, maintain a safe distance between the platform and people, and avoid performing dangerous modifications. Actual parameters may vary depending on the application scenario and selected configuration.
Application Areas
- Research robotic laboratories. Collection of experimental data, model training, and testing algorithms for manipulating physical objects.
- Service robotics. Development of interaction scenarios with objects and performing operations in a service environment.
- Domestic robotics. Training models for working with typical objects and processes in a residential environment.
- Retail. Researching operations with goods, packages, containers, and other objects in the retail space.
- Industrial scenarios. Testing algorithms for manipulating parts, tools, and technological equipment in controlled work areas.
