Research Mobile Platform Unitree G1-D Ultimate A-U6 for Object Grasping and Manipulation
Unitree G1-D Ultimate A-U6 is a research robotic system designed for practicing force-controlled grasping, data collection, and training control models, with two Dex1-1 Advanced grippers, 21 degrees of freedom, and adjustable working height. The combination of seven-axis arms, cameras near the fingers, a lifting column, and a wheeled chassis allows for exploring visual guidance, object interaction, and transferring algorithms from simulation to a physical platform.
Features of Unitree G1-D Ultimate A-U6
- Force-controlled grasping from 5 to 120 N. Two Dex1-1 Advanced grippers allow adjusting the gripping force according to the object's properties. This helps work with both lightweight objects and parts that require more force to hold.
- Gripper stroke for objects of different sizes. A wide opening range allows adjusting the grasp without replacing the end effector. The finger movement speed is adjustable within 50–375 mm/s.
- Machine vision directly near the working area. Each Advanced version gripper is equipped with a 1080p resolution camera. The placement of cameras near the fingers provides additional visual data during object targeting and manipulation.
- 21 degrees of freedom in full configuration. The base platform has 19 degrees of freedom: 14 in two arms, 2 in the waist module, 1 in the lifting column, and 2 in the chassis. Two single-axis grippers increase the total to 21.
- Adjustable position of manipulators relative to the working surface. A lifting column with a 450 mm stroke changes the platform height from approximately 1260 to 1680 mm. This allows adjusting the arm position for working with equipment and surfaces of different heights.
Functional Capabilities of the Robot
- Organization of robotic experiments. Users can form work tasks, change their parameters, distribute operations among platforms, and monitor execution progress.
- Data set formation for machine learning. The system supports the full data workflow: from acquisition and labeling to verification, storage, and transfer for further processing.
- Control of model training process. The software environment allows selecting a model, setting training parameters, controlling intermediate results, and adjusting settings during operation.
- Preliminary verification of robot behavior. Prepared algorithms can be tested in a virtual environment, evaluating the result before launching on a physical platform.
- Transfer of the prepared model to the robot. After verification, the model can be exported and deployed on the G1-D for practical testing of manipulations and action sequences.
- Coordination of multiple platforms. The ecosystem provides for parallel data collection by multiple robots, load distribution, and centralized result processing.
Application Areas
- Service environments. Developing robotic solutions for interacting with objects and performing auxiliary operations in spaces oriented towards serving people.
- Everyday space. Researching robot operation in environments equipped for humans, with furniture, household items, and working surfaces of varying heights.
- Retail. Creating and testing interaction scenarios with goods, shelves, and other objects in the retail space.
- Industrial environments. Practicing robotic manipulations and action sequences in research production areas and experimental workstations.
