Formlabs Fuse 1 10W Laser Assembly

Formlabs Fuse 1 10W Laser Assembly — a service unit of the optical system of the SLS printer, which serves as the energy source for selective sintering of powder material. The Fuse 1 uses a fiber laser with a power of up to 10 W, which forms the part by sequentially sintering specified areas of each layer.

Purpose of the Laser Module

During printing, the laser beam is directed by the galvanometric system over the working area and sinters the powder according to the model's geometry. Stable operation of the laser unit is necessary for the proper formation of layers and execution of SLS printing.

When Replacement is Needed

The laser module is replaced in the event of a confirmed malfunction that leads to printing errors or prevents the printer from properly performing the sintering process. For Fuse 1, remote calibration involving Formlabs Services is required after replacing the laser module.
