ASA Plastic Intamsys for UV-Resistant and Weather-Resistant Parts
ASA Plastic Intamsys 1 kg 1.75 mm White is a filament made of acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate for FDM/FFF 3D printing of functional parts. The material is resistant to UV radiation and atmospheric influences, allowing printed products to be used under prolonged exposure to sunlight and weather changes. The surface of the parts has a low gloss level.
Material Advantages
- Resistance to UV radiation and atmospheric influences. ASA is designed for use in parts under prolonged exposure to sunlight and weather changes. This property distinguishes the material from ABS and is important for products that are regularly exposed to weather factors.
- Resistance to bending loads. The bending strength of ASA Intamsys is 73.4 MPa. This indicator characterizes the ability of the printed part to withstand a load that tends to bend it and allows the material to be assessed for functional elements that operate under such a load.
- Heat resistance. ASA combines mechanical properties with heat resistance, which is important for parts that, in addition to resistance to weather factors, may experience thermal loads.
- Surface with low gloss level. Printed parts have a less glossy surface. This feature is important for products where, in addition to functional properties, the appearance of the surface is considered.
3D Printing Features
For printing ASA Intamsys, temperature control throughout the process is important. The material is printed with a heated platform and working chamber, which helps maintain temperature conditions during the formation of the part.
To create breakaway supports from ASA, HIPS can be used. After printing, such supports are removed mechanically.
Drying
Before printing, ASA Intamsys is dried at a temperature of 80 °C for 8 hours.
Application Areas
ASA Intamsys is primarily intended for parts that are exposed to sunlight and weather changes for a long time. The material is also suitable for products where, in addition to resistance to atmospheric factors, mechanical and thermal properties are important, as well as a surface with low gloss.
