It expands the system's functionality, turning it into a powerful laser engraver and cutter for high-precision processing of wood, acrylic, leather, and other materials. The module is equipped with an automatic focusing system, a Smart Air Assist mechanism, and supports cutting lime plywood up to 15 mm thick and pine up to 20 mm in one pass.

Features of the Snapmaker 40W Laser Module

• High power 40 W: the module provides efficient energy transfer to the material, allowing quick cutting of thick blanks and working with wood, acrylic, leather, as well as performing surface engraving and marking of stainless steel, anodized, and painted metal surfaces.
• Automatic Smart Air Assist: the system delivers compressed air directly to the processing area, effectively removing smoke and ash. This reliably protects the lens from contamination and prevents charring and burns on the edges of the material. Air assist control is fully automated through the Luban software — air assist parameters can be set separately for each operation.
• Library with 1000+ templates in Luban: the proprietary software provides a database of ready-made vector layouts, graphic elements, shapes, and icons that allow you to quickly prepare a drawing or template for work without external editors.
• Convenient focusing: focal distance adjustment is performed in two ways: after entering the material thickness on the printer's touch screen, the system automatically sets the required focal distance, or it can be done manually using the built-in mechanical lever.
• Laser Safety Shield: a special shield on the module body blocks direct and reflected laser radiation. When installing the module on Snapmaker 2.0, Artisan, or Ray 3D printers equipped with a protective enclosure, the laser hazard class is reduced from Class 4 to Class 1.
