The double-sided Snapmaker PEI Glass Plate measuring 400 × 400 mm is designed for the Artisan series 3D printers. The accessory combines a textured PEI coating, which provides reliable adhesion for PLA, ABS, PETG, and forms a rough surface for the first layer of the model. The other side is made of glossy polished glass, ensuring a perfectly smooth bottom base for products made from flexible TPU. The integration of two types of surfaces in one platform eliminates the need to purchase separate plates for 3D printing, ensures high flatness of the table, and compatibility with the proprietary zonal heating system.

Surface Operating Modes

• PEI surface: designed for use with PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA plastics. Provides a textured bottom layer for parts. Heating — up to 110 °C.
• Glass surface: designed for TPU printing to achieve a smooth bottom layer for models. Heating — up to 80–90 °C. Requires the application of special 3D printing glue. For TPU and PETG filaments, it serves as a protective barrier against excessive adhesion during heating to prevent glass damage upon removal, and for other plastics, it enhances adhesion.

Usage Features

Important warning: when using materials like TPU and PETG, always apply 3D printer glue as a separating layer to facilitate the removal of the finished product. These plastics have a chemical affinity with glass. When hot TPU or PETG is placed on clean glossy glass, they sinter at the molecular level. Adhesion becomes too strong. When the model cools, the plastic contracts, and if it is bonded too tightly with the glass, there is a risk of tearing pieces from the platform surface. How the glue works: it creates a physical micro-layer between the glass and the plastic and prevents them from welding together. After cooling, this layer easily breaks or dissolves in water, allowing the model to be removed without damaging the glass surface.

The accessory is designed for use on first-generation 3D printers Snapmaker Artisan and Artisan Pro with a platform size of 400 × 400 mm. After installing a new plate or changing the surface side, the manufacturer recommends leveling the table through the 3D printer's engineering menu to avoid nozzle or platform damage.

• Safe removal of parts: to avoid damaging the protective layer of the glass surface, when working with a spatula or scraper, maintain a sharp angle of the tool — less than 30 degrees.
• Cleaning and care: wipe and degrease the plate only after it has cooled to room temperature. For the care of PEI and glass sides, we recommend using isopropyl alcohol. Attention! Do not use ethyl alcohol with additives or acetone to prevent the destruction of the coating structure.
