Unitree G1-D Standard D-U4 with BrainCo Revo 2 Five-Fingered Hands for Robotics Research
Unitree G1-D Standard D-U4 is a mobile humanoid platform designed for collecting robotics data, training models, and researching manipulations. It features 29 degrees of freedom, a lift column, and two BrainCo Revo 2 Basic Edition five-fingered hands with RGB cameras. The basic version of the G1-D Standard combines two arms with 7 degrees of freedom each, a movable waist module, a lift column, a machine vision system, and support for secondary development.
Features of Unitree G1-D Standard D-U4
- 29 degrees of freedom for multi-step operations. This mobility allows the platform to coherently change the position of the body, arms, and hands, approach manipulators to objects at different angles, and perform sequential operations of grabbing, moving, and placing items.
- Two BrainCo Revo 2 Basic Edition five-fingered hands. Each hand has 6 degrees of freedom, 11 joint connections, repeatability of 0.1°, and an integrated RGB camera. This equipment allows for the exploration of multi-fingered grips and obtaining visual data directly near the work area.
- Adjustable workspace. The lift column changes the overall height of the platform from 1260 to 1680 mm at a speed of approximately 60 mm/s. The waist module with a range of motion of ±155° around the Z-axis and from −2.5° to +135° around the Y-axis helps to bring the arms to objects at different heights and angles.
- Machine vision system with multiple observation points. A binocular HD camera in the main module, two HD cameras on the wrists, and RGB cameras in the hands provide observation of the work environment from a frontal perspective and directly near the hand work area.
- Support for custom software solutions. The basic computing system is equipped with a high-performance 8-core processor, and support for secondary development allows for the creation, customization, and deployment of custom software solutions and robotic models. For more complex calculations, the manufacturer offers additional computing modules of various configurations.
Functional Capabilities of Unitree G1-D Standard D-U4
- Data collection process planning. The software environment allows for the formation and editing of work tasks, assigning them to executors, and monitoring the current execution status.
- Formation of training samples. The platform supports recording robotics data, its preliminary processing, and the creation of annotations necessary for model training.
- Processing of collected information. Users can upload and verify data, organize it into sets, store and export it for further work.
- Preparation and training of models. The G1-D ecosystem allows for selecting the model architecture, setting training parameters, monitoring the process, and adjusting settings.
- Testing in a virtual environment. Prepared algorithms can be tested in simulation before transferring and deploying them on the physical platform.
- Parallel operation of a fleet of robots. The system architecture provides for the simultaneous use of a large number of platforms, workload distribution, and centralized reception of significant data volumes.
