Stationary Humanoid Platform Unitree G1-D Standard B-U2 for Two-Handed and Multi-Finger Manipulations
Unitree G1-D Standard B-U2 is a stationary research robotic system designed for the development and testing of manipulation algorithms, featuring two three-fingered Dex3-1 hands, 31 degrees of freedom, and a multi-angle machine vision system. The platform combines seven-axis arms, adjustable working height, and cameras in the hands, on the wrists, and in the main module, allowing for data collection and coordinated two-handed operations with objects.
Features of Unitree G1-D Standard B-U2
- Two three-fingered Dex3-1 hands with force control. The B-U2 configuration is equipped with two Dex3-1 hands without tactile feedback. Each has 7 degrees of freedom: 3 for the thumb and 2 each for the index and middle fingers, allowing for the exploration of various ways to grasp, hold, and move objects.
- Kinematic system with 31 degrees of freedom. The platform combines two seven-axis arms, a waist module with 2 degrees of freedom, a single-axis lift column, and two seven-axis hands. This structure provides coordinated control of the body position, manipulators, and fingers during two-handed operations.
- Load capacity of approximately 3 kg per arm. The seven-axis arm design allows for the formation of spatial trajectories and changes in the position of end effectors relative to the working surface. The actual allowable load depends on the reach and current position of the arm.
- Machine vision from multiple observation points. RGB cameras in the hands capture images near the contact area with the object, while a binocular HD camera in the main module and two HD cameras on the wrists provide additional perspectives. This system can be used for visual data collection and manipulation control.
- Adjustable working height on a fixed base. The lift column adjusts the overall height of the platform from 1260 to 1680 mm at a speed of approximately 60 mm/s. This allows for the adjustment of arm positions according to the height of a table, test stand, or other working equipment.
- Local computing and wireless data exchange. The base system is equipped with a high-performance 8-core processor, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. The platform supports secondary development, data transmission, and network software updates.
Functional Capabilities of Unitree G1-D Standard B-U2
- Preparation of data sets for robotic models. The software environment includes data collection and annotation, verification of obtained materials, their storage, and export for further use.
- Organization of the research process. Users can create and edit tasks, assign them, and track the progress of work within a single project.
- Training and configuration of models. The software environment supports the selection of architecture, training parameter settings, computational process control, and configuration adjustments. It provides for working with open robotic models and data sets.
- Preliminary algorithm testing in simulation. The behavior of the model can be evaluated in a digital environment using 3D models and virtual scenes before deployment on the physical platform.
- Transferring models from simulation to hardware. After training and verification, the prepared model can be exported and deployed on the G1-D for evaluation of its performance in real conditions.
- Parallel operation with multiple platforms. The software architecture supports load distribution, synchronous data collection, and centralized information processing when working with multiple robots.
