Raise3D Premium ASA filament
Raise3D’s Premium ASA filament is an ideal filament for outdoor applications that is a good alternative to ABS with improved weather resistance. Its stability against UV radiation and excellent mechanical properties make it ideal for practical applications.
ASA (acrylic styrene-acrylonitrile) is an opaque thermoplastic 3D plastic that has mechanical properties similar to ABS. Along with this, it has better resistance to UV and weather conditions. Therefore, it is commonly used in applications that require color and properties to be maintained outdoors.
ASA is an amorphous opaque thermoplastic structurally similar to ABS. ASA boasts slightly better mechanical properties, but in some cases it can also cost a bit more. Since ABS is very popular and has many more options, it is generally recommended to use ABS if being outside is not a concern.

Recommended print settings with Premium ASA
- Nozzle temperature: 240 – 260 °C
- Bed temperature: 75 – 100 °C
- Layer height: 0.1 – 0.25 mm
- Print speed: 25 – 80 mm/s
- Cooling fan: Low or off
- Drying temperature: 80 °C
Features of printing with Premium ASA:
- For better layer adhesion, it is recommended to start with a field or raft print (0.15 – 0.20 mm pitch), set the bed temperature to 110 °C and turn off the cooling fan for the first few layers.
PLA can be used as a release support material for ASA.
