Variable Component xTool - CO₂ Laser Tube 80W for P3
CO₂ Laser Tube 80W for xTool P3 is the original emitter designed to replace the standard element in xTool P3 laser machines. The 80W power allows cutting linden wood up to 20–25 mm thick and transparent acrylic up to 25–28 mm under optimal conditions. Installing this tube allows restoring the nominal characteristics of the laser system, provided other units are functional, ensuring stable cutting speed and engraving accuracy during serial or individual production.
Replacement Procedure and Maintenance
The design of the laser tube fully complies with the factory specifications of xTool P3, simplifying the process of its installation in place of the used element. The laser tube is mounted in the standard seating places inside the machine's body and connected to the existing liquid cooling system. The following steps are performed during component replacement:
- Draining old liquid: before dismantling the worn tube, the cooling water is completely drained from its internal circuit to avoid moisture getting on the optics, mirrors, and electronic boards of the machine.
- Fixation and connection: the new tube is placed on adjustable supports, after which silicone hoses of the circuit are connected to its fittings and high-voltage connections are made.
- Filling and checking the circuit: the system is filled with clean distilled water; before the first start, it is important to ensure the complete absence of air bubbles in the water jacket of the laser tube, as air pockets lead to local overheating and glass cracks.
- Optics adjustment: thanks to the full compliance with the factory dimensions of xTool P3, aligning the optical path after replacement takes minimal time.
Timely replacement of the component allows avoiding a decrease in the machine's operating speed and prevents defects due to the gradual depletion of the gas mixture in the old tube.
Package Contents and Operating Conditions
The laser tube is supplied in special protective packaging that prevents damage to the fragile glass during transportation. The delivery set includes the CO₂ tube itself with an 80W power output and contacts for connection.
To ensure a long service life of the tube and maintain stable beam power, several operating rules must be followed:
- Temperature regime: the temperature of the cooling liquid in the circuit should be constantly maintained within +15°C … +25°C. Overheating the water above +30°C leads to a rapid loss of power and degradation of the gas mixture.
- Water quality: only distilled water is allowed for cooling. Regular or water purified by household filters leaves scale and organic deposits on the inner walls of the jacket, which worsens heat dissipation.
- Current control: it is not recommended to operate the tube for a long time at maximum current values of the ignition block. Operating at 80–85% of the maximum power significantly extends the overall resource of the emitter.
