CreatBot D400 HS is an industrial desktop FDM 3D printer with a spacious work area of 420 × 400 × 420 mm, designed for rapid prototyping and precise manufacturing directly in the office or workshop. Thanks to an active thermal chamber with a temperature of up to 70 °C, a dual extruder heated up to 420 °C, and Klipper-based control, the printer prints with high-temperature materials at speeds of up to 300 mm/s. - Calibration with Eddy Current sensor. Instead of contact mechanical end sensors, a non-contact electromagnetic scanning system is used. The sensor measures the distance to the metal platform with an accuracy of up to 0.001 mm. The full table height map build takes 60 seconds, ensuring excellent first-layer adhesion.
- Flexible heat-resistant magnetic platform. The working surface is equipped with a magnetic backing that retains its properties under constant heating above 100 °C. After the print cycle is complete, the part easily detaches from the table due to the elastic deformation of the removable sheet.
Dual Printing Technology with Auto-Raising System
The CreatBot D400 HS print head is built on an intelligent dual extrusion Auto-Raising system. It operates under the control of Klipper firmware and implements automatic lifting of the inactive nozzle. The powerful heating system allows reaching temperatures of 420 °C and supports a high volumetric plastic melting speed — up to 90 mm³/s.
Thanks to the automatic lifting of the inactive tool and the use of two filaments simultaneously, the device effectively solves complex manufacturing tasks:
- Multi-material printing: creating parts with a combination of polymers with different properties or colors in one work cycle.
- Printing with soluble supports: using specialized materials like PVA, HIPS, etc., for manufacturing elements with overhanging structures where regular supports cannot be removed.
- Production of composite assemblies: forming strong industrial components by combining engineering plastics and carbon fiber composites.
This kinematic scheme eliminates the risk of mechanical contact of the passive nozzle with the model. This allows for the production of thin-walled parts, internal channels of complex geometry, and obtaining a clean surface at the points of contact with supports.
Microclimate Control and Chamber Thermal Stabilization
The printer's body has a fully enclosed, hermetic design with an integrated layer of thermal insulation and a forced convection system that maintains a uniform thermal field inside the working space up to 70 °C. The presence of a constant controlled temperature is crucial for damping internal stresses in polymers with a high shrinkage coefficient.
The thermally stable environment eliminates the risk of warping, corner deformation, and wall delamination during the production of large parts. Maintaining constant chamber heating when working with engineering copolymers such as ABS, PC, and Nylon promotes slow material cooling, which significantly improves layer bonding and increases the overall tensile strength of the finished product.
Working Temperature Range and Polymer Compatibility
The combination of a hotend heated up to 420 °C, a heated bed up to 120 °C, and an active thermal chamber ensures predictable printing of a wide range of industrial and engineering materials.
Compatible material types are classified into three main categories:
- Basic and technical thermoplastics: PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, elastic polyurethanes TPU, polycarbonate PC, and various grades of structural polyamides Nylon / PA.
- Reinforced and composite materials: high-strength compounds filled with carbon or glass fiber, including ABS-CF, PC-CF, PET-CF, PA-CF / UltraPA-CF, and rigid industrial plastics like PPS-CF.
- Auxiliary materials for support structures: water-soluble filaments PVA and specialized polymers for mechanical removal Breakaway, which allow forming parts with overhanging elements and are easily removed during post-processing.
