The Formlabs Fuse X1 Mixer is an automated powder-blending station for the Fuse X1 SLS ecosystem, engineered to combine reclaimed powder from the Fuse Sift X1 with fresh nylon material at the correct refresh rate. Paired with the Fuse X1 Vacuum Conveyor, it completes the closed-loop powder management cycle — from post-print sifting through to print-ready loading — without manual weighing or direct operator handling.

Precision Powder Management — Without the Guesswork

SLS powder quality is cumulative. Every reclaim cycle subtly alters flowability, particle size distribution, and thermal behaviour. The Fuse X1 Mixer corrects for this automatically: it receives unsintered powder from the Fuse Sift X1, adds fresh material at the manufacturer-specified refresh rate, and delivers a consistent, print-ready blend to the next stage. The formula holds regardless of operator, shift, or time of day.

Manual refreshing introduces variability that compounds with every build — under-refreshed powder produces brittle parts; over-refreshed mixtures waste material without a quality benefit. Automating the blend ratio is not a convenience upgrade. It is the prerequisite for repeatable mechanical performance.

Integrated Handoff: Mixer to Printer via Vacuum Conveyor

The Mixer and the Fuse X1 Vacuum Conveyor operate in sequence. Once blending is complete, the Vacuum Conveyor draws the powder pneumatically from the Mixer and transfers it directly into the Fuse X1 print chamber — no manual scooping, no open-air exposure, no contamination risk. The printer is primed and ready for the next job within the closed ecosystem, preserving material consistency from sift to build.

Modular Expansion for High-Volume Facilities

Single-printer labs get a seamless closed loop. Facilities running multiple machines get something more. Additional Vacuum Conveyors can be connected to a single Mixer, routing blended material to several printers or buffer storage vessels in parallel.
