Formlabs Fuse Sift Mixer Assembly — a replaceable service unit of the Fuse Sift station used for mixing powder in the cartridge. Its task is to ensure uniform mixing of fresh and recycled powder before further use of the material in SLS printing.

Purpose of the Mixer

After filling the cartridge with a mixture of fresh and used powder, the cartridge is placed on the Fuse Sift mixer. The unit rotates the cartridge for a set period of time, helping to achieve a homogeneous powder mixture. Formlabs recommends mixing the powder for at least 10 minutes.

When Replacement is Needed

The mixer is replaced in case of malfunction or disruptions in the mechanism's operation. Formlabs indicates among the signs for replacement loud atypical noise and problems with the movement of the mixer during operation. There is no fixed interval for scheduled replacement of this unit.
