Creality Pika Portable 3D Scanner for Parts and Objects

Creality Pika is a portable 3D scanner with two geometry acquisition technologies: 7 parallel blue laser lines and NIR Structured Light. The laser mode provides accuracy up to 0.03 mm and is primarily aimed at parts, models, figurines, and objects with complex contours. The NIR mode is designed for larger items, human scanning, and color 3D scanning. Pika is suitable for digitizing physical objects, creating 3D models, and preparing data for 3D printing.

Portable 3D Scanner Creality Pika for Scanning Parts and Objects
Creality Pika: a compact portable 3D scanner with blue laser and NIR Structured Light for digitizing parts, models, and objects of various sizes.

Main Features of Creality Pika

  • Two 3D scanning modes. Pika operates with 7 blue laser lines and NIR Structured Light technology. The scanning mode is selected based on the size, shape, and features of the object.
  • Precise scanning of small details. The blue laser accurately captures small elements and contours. Accuracy up to 0.03 mm. In NIR mode, accuracy up to 0.1 mm.
  • Fast scanning. When working with a PC, the blue laser provides up to 110 frames/s, and NIR up to 30 frames/s.
  • Compact and lightweight body. The scanner weighs 260 g with the battery, making it easy to hold and carry.
  • Operation in bright light. The scanner can be used not only indoors. The blue laser works in lighting up to 110,000 lux, NIR with a filter up to 80,000 lux.
  • Battery operation. The kit includes two 3350 mAh batteries. One lasts approximately 70 minutes of operation.
  • Model processing in CrealityScan. After scanning, the model can be edited and prepared for further work. Supported formats are STL, OBJ, PLY, and ASC.
Key Features and Specifications of the Creality Pika 3D Scanner
Key Features of Creality Pika: 260 g body, three connection methods, marker-free scanning, operation in bright lighting, speed up to 110 FPS, and replaceable batteries.

Two 3D Scanning Modes of Creality Pika

Pika operates with two different optical schemes. The blue laser is focused on precise capture of small geometry, while NIR Structured Light is for larger objects, humans, and color models.

7 Parallel Blue Laser Lines

The laser mode is suitable for small parts, miniatures, figurines, models, and objects with complex contours. Seven parallel blue lines collect surface geometry data with an accuracy of up to 0.03 mm. The 3D resolution ranges from 0.1–2 mm, with a frame rate of up to 110 FPS on a PC and 40 FPS on a smartphone. The working distance is 160–400 mm, and the minimum scanning volume is 10 × 10 × 10 mm.

NIR Structured Light

NIR Structured Light is suitable for larger objects, human scanning, and creating color models. The mode provides accuracy up to 0.1 mm, 3D resolution of 0.15–2 mm, and supports 24-bit color capture. The working distance is 140–1000 mm, and the minimum scanning volume is 150 × 150 × 150 mm. A removable infrared filter helps work in bright lighting.

Accuracy and Scanning Speed

Creality Pika provides accuracy up to 0.03 mm in blue laser mode and up to 0.1 mm in NIR. When working with a PC, the speed reaches up to 110 FPS for the laser and up to 30 FPS for NIR, and with a smartphone up to 40 and 20 FPS respectively.

In laser mode, Pika supports marker-free scanning when connected via cable to a PC. The scanner can also work with black and metallic surfaces without a matting spray, and markers can be used for complex geometry or strong reflections. The blue laser works in lighting up to 110,000 lux, NIR with a filter up to 80,000 lux.

Connection and Model Processing in CrealityScan

Creality Pika is equipped with a 3-inch touch display and supports connection via USB 3.0 and Wi-Fi 6. The built-in battery provides up to 70 minutes of operation, which is convenient for mobile scanning in different work areas. CrealityScan is used for scanning control, data processing, and 3D model preparation. Finished files can be exported in STL, OBJ, PLY, and ASC formats for further editing, 3D printing, or work in CAD programs.
