Industrial High-Speed 3D Printer Mingda MD-400D with IDEX System

Mingda MD-400D is an FDM 3D printer with an independent dual-nozzle IDEX system and a print area of 400 × 400 × 400 mm. The model is designed for the production of functional prototypes, serial production of parts, and printing complex products using two materials or colors simultaneously. Printing speed up to 300 mm/s and nozzle temperature up to 350 °C ensure stable operation with both standard and engineering filaments. Thanks to the IDEX system, the printer supports dual-material printing, copying, and mirroring modes, allowing for faster production of parts, optimizing material costs, and increasing production efficiency.

Model Features and Functionality

Parallel Printing and Serial Production of Parts

The independent dual-extruder IDEX system allows printing two different models or two identical parts simultaneously in Copy Mode. This approach effectively doubles productivity compared to standard single-extruder systems and significantly reduces the production time of small batches of products. The function is especially useful for small-scale production, prototyping, and performing repetitive tasks.

Mirror Printing of Symmetrical Products

Mirror Mode allows you to simultaneously print a model and its mirror copy. When manufacturing symmetrical parts, it is enough to prepare a model of only one half of the product, after which the printer will automatically create the second part. This reduces printing time by approximately 50% and accelerates the development of concepts, prototypes, and functional products with complex geometry.

High-Precision Kinematics on Industrial Linear Guides

The MD-400D kinematic system is built on industrial linear guides manufactured using high-precision CNC machining. This design ensures smooth and stable movement of the printing units, increases the rigidity of the mechanics, and maintains positioning accuracy even during prolonged high-speed printing.

Automatic Calibration of the IDEX System

The 3D printer supports automatic calibration of the offset of independent extruders along the XY and Z axes. The system accurately aligns the position of both nozzles relative to each other, using an integrated camera for the XY axis and a high-precision sensor for the Z axis. This minimizes positioning errors and ensures correct layer alignment during dual-material and dual-color printing.

Intelligent Algorithms for Improving Print Quality

Input Shaper Technology: reduces the impact of vibrations that occur during fast movements of the print head, ensuring a smoother surface of the products.

Flow Control System: continuously monitors filament feed and helps avoid under-extrusion or over-extrusion. This contributes to increased print accuracy, improved model detailing, and stable quality of finished products.

Efficient Model Cooling System

The MD-400D is equipped with an air cooling system with aerodynamically optimized air channels that form a powerful directed airflow. Intensive and uniform layer cooling promotes rapid material solidification, effectively reduces the risk of stringing and warping, and ensures high print quality even for complex models.

Supported Materials

Thanks to the high-temperature hotend with heating up to 350 °C, platform heating up to 110 °C, and a closed chamber design, the Mingda MD-400D is compatible with a wide range of materials:

  • standard: PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PA;
  • glass fiber reinforced: PET-GF, HtPA-GF, HtPA-GF25, PPS-GF, ABS-GF25;
  • carbon fiber reinforced: PET-CF, HtPA-CF, HtPA-CF25, PPS-CF, PA12-CF, ABS-CF;
  • high-temperature engineering: PPS and its modifications;
  • support and dual-material printing materials: soluble and easily removable filaments (including proprietary S-Multi, S-HtPA, PVA) for creating complex geometric products.

Note: the independent dual-extruder IDEX system allows combining the main material and supports simultaneously, using two different plastics, or printing models in two colors in one production cycle.
