Industrial 3D Printer Mingda MD-1000D with Dual Extruders

Mingda MD-1000D — an industrial-class FDM 3D printer with an enclosed frame and a build volume of 1000 × 1000 × 1000 mm. The model is designed for manufacturing solid large-scale parts, functional prototypes, casting molds, and production tooling. The maximum printing speed is 300 mm/s, the nozzle temperature reaches 350 °C, and the chamber heating is up to 45 °C. The dual extrusion system allows working with combinations of materials, including engineering and composite filaments. The large build volume eliminates the need to split large objects into separate segments for subsequent gluing.

Design Features and Functionality

Kinematics and Performance

  • Speed Parameters: maximum printing speed — 300 mm/s, acceleration to working values takes 0.02 seconds, peak acceleration — up to 10,000 mm/s².
  • Volumetric Extrusion Speed: maximum melt flow is up to 40 mm³/s.
  • Mechanics: the movement mechanism is built on HIWIN linear guides and closed-loop stepper motors. This ensures positioning accuracy, eliminates step skipping under high loads, and reduces noise levels.

Dual Extruder System

The dual-channel print head allows tasks to be performed using two materials in a single cycle:

  1. Support Printing. Use of special materials (S-Multi, S-HtPA) that easily detach mechanically or dissolve without damaging the part's surface.
  2. Multicolor Printing. Simultaneous combination of two colors of plastic.

Frame and Reliability

The frame is made of CNC-machined sheet metal. The enclosed frame reduces vibrations and maintains an internal chamber temperature of up to 45 °C, preventing deformation and shrinkage of thermosensitive materials during prolonged printing.

Automation and Control

  • Self-Diagnosis on Startup: before starting, the printer tests the state of the hotends, bed heating, Z/XY-offset calibration, chamber, and fans. Errors are displayed on the screen.
  • Failure Protection: an optical sensor detects filament end or breakage. The power recovery system automatically saves the position, parks the head, and lowers the platform in case of power failure, resuming printing after power is restored.
  • Network Capabilities: Wi-Fi/Ethernet modules and a built-in video camera provide remote start and video monitoring. Centralized management of a group of printers is supported.
  • Software: the MINGDA OrcaSlicer includes pre-installed profiles for compatible materials.

Compatible Materials

The printer is equipped with nozzles heated up to 350 °C, an aluminum platform with PEI coating (heated up to 110 °C), and a thermal chamber (up to 45 °C). The model works with the following types of plastics:

  • Standard: PLA, PETG.
  • Glass Fiber Reinforced: PET-GF, HtPA-GF, HtPA-GF25, PPS-GF, ABS-GF.
  • Carbon Fiber Reinforced: PET-CF, HtPA-CF, HtPA-CF25, PPS-CF, ABS-CF, PA12-CF.
  • High-Temperature: PPS and its modifications.
  • Support Materials: S-Multi, S-HtPA.

Filament Chamber: the lower part of the frame houses a sealed moisture-proof drying chamber with auxiliary feed, designed for 2 spools weighing up to 3 kg each.
