PLA Plastic Bambu Lab Matte 1.75 mm Ash Grey for High-Quality and Aesthetic 3D Printing
Bambu Lab PLA Matte is a matte plastic for 3D printing, designed for creating decorative elements, models, and electronic enclosures, supporting speeds up to 270 mm/s. The material is developed for FDM printers that work with 1.75 mm filament. During printing, it forms a velvet surface without glossy shine, which masks layer lines. The modified formula simplifies the removal of supports, and on Bambu Lab devices, the built-in RFID tag and AMS system provide automatic setup.
Main Advantages of Bambu Lab Matte PLA Plastic
- Elegant matte texture. The special rough surface significantly reduces the visibility of interlayer transitions, giving details a monolithic, refined, and professional look.
- Adaptation to extreme speeds. Ensures high quality and print stability at speeds up to 200–270 mm/s without the risk of under-extrusion (tested with a 0.4 mm nozzle at a layer height of 0.2 mm).
- Intelligent RFID system. The spool is equipped with a built-in radio frequency tag that is automatically read by AMS and AMS Lite systems in Bambu Lab printers, instantly setting the required profile in Bambu Studio.
- Beginner-friendly and easy to post-process. The material is not prone to warping or delamination. Supports detach easily without damaging the model's walls.
- Eco-friendliness and safety. The filament is made from biodegradable materials. There is no sharp odor during printing, and the product complies with international RoHS standards.
Compatibility and Application in 3D Printing
The material is designed for synchronization with the Bambu Lab 3D printer ecosystem of the X1, P1, and A1 series. Thanks to automation through AMS modules, the user does not need to manually adjust temperature or speed settings. At the same time, the plastic shows stable high-quality results on any other FDM printers of open or closed type, working with 1.75 mm filament. The palette of refined muted shades makes it indispensable for artistic tasks.
What Can Be Made with Bambu Lab Matte PLA Plastic
- architectural models and building models;
- interior decor, lighting elements, and art objects;
- designer conceptual prototypes;
- fashion items, souvenirs, and detailed toys;
- organizers, stands, and enclosures for electronics without high-temperature loads.
The recommended long-term operating temperature of finished products is up to 55 °C.
Technical Specifications and Printing Setup Recommendations
- Compatible working surfaces: Cool Plate, High Temperature Plate, or Textured PEI Plate. To ensure first-layer adhesion and easy removal of large objects, it is recommended to apply dry or liquid 3D printing glue.
- Material preparation: if the filament has been in a humid environment for a long time, it is recommended to dry it in a convection dryer or thermal cabinet at 50 °C for 8 hours before printing. Store in a sealed container with humidity < 20% with a desiccant.

Operational Features: Tips from 3DDevice Experts
- Avoid critical overheating of products. Since the softening temperature is 63 °C, finished products made from PLA Matte should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures. Do not leave the model in a closed car interior on hot days and keep it away from heating systems or open flames.
- Always use cooling. To achieve the perfect matte texture, clean printing of bridges, and sharp overhang angles up to 55°, keep the model cooling fan activated.
- Material limitations. Despite its excellent visual properties, PLA Matte is not designed for extreme mechanical loads, aggressive chemical environments, or constant outdoor use under ultraviolet light. For engineering and outdoor solutions, choose PETG, ABS, or ASA.
