IMT 304Lis a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel, which is one of the most sought-after materials for 3D printing using the SLM (Selective Laser Melting) method. Due to its reduced carbon content, this alloy provides excellent corrosion resistance and high ductility, making it a versatile solution for producing functional prototypes and series parts of complex configurations.

The use of powder fraction 15–53 μm allows achieving high printing density and smooth surface of products, minimizing the need for intensive mechanical processing after completing the cycle in the metal printer chamber.

  • Manganese (Mn): 2.0% — aids in deoxidation and improves wear resistance.
  • Silicon (Si): 1.0% — enhances melt fluidity during laser sintering.
  • Oxygen (O): ≤ 0.06% — strict control of gas content to prevent part porosity.
  • Carbon (C): ≤ 0.03% — ultra-low content prevents chromium carbide precipitation, protecting against intergranular corrosion.
  • Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.045%.
  • Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.03%.
