Form Wash L for 3D printers Formlabs is an automated device for washing large format prints in isopropyl alcohol solution.

Formlabs has developed and launched a device specifically for its wideformat 3D printers Form 3L and Form 3BL. This completes the ecosystem for 3D printers with a large build volume. Thus, Formlabs offers its users a fully automated workflow for 3D printing and post-processing of large printed products.

Post-processing of resin prints

Stereolithographic 3D printing creates three-dimensional details according to a given 3D model algorithm. This is done by illuminating the photopolymers with a high-precision laser spot. The part printed in 3D printer is not completely ready right away from the 3D printer. It also needs rinsing in a solution of isopropyl alcohol or other special solutions. This removes excess polymer left on the surface of the part. In addition, often the photopolymer must undergo additional treatment with ultraviolet light in the polymerizer.

Each polymer from the Formlabs arsenal has its own washing and lighting parameters. The Form Wash L and Form Cure L automate these processes: you don’t need to adjust anything! Just choose the type of polymer on the screen, and the device will do everything needed. As a result, you get smooth and clean high-quality printed parts.

After washing in Wash L, parts will be automatically extracted from the solvent and air-dried. Thus, they will not be exposed to excessive solvent and will not be deformed.

In addition, the device automatically monitors solvent quality, and will notify you of it needs to be replaced.

Compatible with 3D printers

Form Wash L is compatible with any Formlabs 3D printer. Wash 2 platforms at once used in smaller 3D printers (Form 3, Form 3B or Form 2) or 1 platform for large-format 3d printers Form 3L or Form 3BL.
