Filament Monofilament ABS flex Transparent 1.75 mm 1 kg with increased elasticity
Monofilament ABS flex plastic is a material for FDM printing, created based on a modified ABS polymer, which combines strength with flexibility and resistance to impact loads. The main feature of this filament is its elastic structure, which provides high wear resistance of products and resistance to oils and fats. The modified polymer composition guarantees excellent interlayer cohesion, protects finished models from cracking during operation, and allows for the creation of functional parts with a heat distortion temperature of up to 90 °C.
Applications of Monofilament ABS flex
- Automotive industry and repair. The filament is used for creating and restoring automotive parts. It is used to manufacture seals, dampers, protective boots, fasteners, and other parts of the engine compartment or interior that require resistance to oils, fats, and fuel.
- Functional parts and moving mechanisms. The elastic structure of the plastic allows for the creation of visual and working prototypes of complex assembled products. The material is optimal for printing parts that work under bending or are subject to friction — hinges, flexible couplings, gears, clamps, and damping elements.
- Production of special footwear and protective gear. The material's wear resistance and ability to absorb impacts allow for printing soles for special footwear, protective pads, elements of special clothing, ergonomic tool holders, and other accessories used in harsh conditions.
Advantages of Monofilament ABS flex
- High elasticity and impact strength. The material combines flexibility and the ability to restore shape after deformation, making it resistant to dynamic and mechanical loads.
- Comfortable and safe printing. The filament does not emit sharp or unpleasant odors either during melting in the printing process or in finished products.
- Minimal water absorption up to 0.04%. Due to its ultra-low hygroscopicity, the plastic practically does not absorb moisture from the air. This allows for stable print quality without the need for prolonged pre-drying of the filament.
- Chemical resistance. The material is neutral to the effects of most fats, oils, alcohols, and acids, significantly expanding its application possibilities in technical and industrial environments.
- Extreme frost resistance. Finished models retain their physical and mechanical properties and do not become brittle even at critically low temperatures down to -80 °C.
- Ease of post-processing. The surface of printed parts is excellently suited for chemical smoothing using solvents, particularly in D-limonene, allowing for a glossy and monolithic structure of products.
Technical specifications
The material is compatible with most open and closed-type FDM 3D printers that support filament with a diameter of 1.75 mm.
