The hybrid 3D scanner Revopoint POP 4 Standard Edition is designed for digitizing small and medium-sized objects in handheld and desktop modes. The device combines a blue multi-line laser, near-infrared structured light, and a VCSEL projector in one body, providing five specialized operating modes for different geometries. The model is optimized for scanning in controlled lighting conditions. A soft protective case is provided for storing and transporting the scanner.
Digitization Functionality: 5 Modes for Any Task
The optical system of Revopoint POP 4 adapts to different types of surfaces using specialized shooting algorithms:
- Cross Laser (30 Cross-lines): Projects a grid of 30 blue lines. Designed for quick capture of dark surfaces and materials with low reflectivity, reducing the need for anti-glare sprays.
- Single Laser Line (Single Line): Concentrates the beam into a single strip for precise scanning of hard-to-reach places — internal grooves, channels, and deep recesses.
- High-Speed Infrared Mode (VCSEL Rapid Scans): Operates based on VCSEL technology. Optimal for markerless shooting of large objects and the human body indoors.
- High-Definition Texture Mode (Full-Field HD): Uses near-infrared structured light. Digitizes detailed objects, focusing on their texture features without applying markers.
- Combined Mode (Hybrid HD Mode): Combines infrared shooting and VCSEL technology to optimize the speed and accuracy of building a 3D model.
AI Algorithms and Data Processing
The scanner software uses Real-time AI Segmentation technology, which automatically identifies and cuts out background objects or the operator's hands during shooting. This simplifies the final processing and eliminates the need for manual cleaning of the finished 3D model. Support for data export for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) technology is also implemented. By combining a dense point cloud and information from a color RGB camera, users can create photorealistic digital scenes with accurate reproduction of geometry, original textures, and lighting conditions of the object.
Measurement Accuracy and Working Distances
In multi-line laser mode, the device provides single-frame accuracy up to 0.03 mm, and volumetric accuracy is calculated by the formula 0.03 mm + 0.05 mm × L, where L is the length of the scanned object in meters.
The scanning area and focal distance vary depending on the selected optical module:
- From 200 to 400 mm: Working range for the blue laser. Used for macro shooting of small elements with minimum dimensions from 10 × 10 × 10 mm.
- From 250 to 500 mm: Distance for full-frame infrared HD scanning.
- From 300 to 800 mm: Range for high-speed VCSEL mode. Allows covering large areas and objects with maximum dimensions up to 2 × 2 × 2 m.
RGB Color Texture Capture
The integrated 1.3 MP RGB camera captures the color maps of the object and automatically aligns them with the geometry of the point cloud. This allows creating digital copies of decor elements, prototypes, or museum exhibits with original coloring, eliminating the need to use external photo equipment.
