Revopoint Trackit SR Optical 3D Scanning System

Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition is a 3D scanning system with a Scanner and Tracker that determines the spatial position of the scanner in real-time. In Tracking Mode, geometry can be captured without attaching markers directly to the object's surface. Three blue laser modes provide separate schemes for detailed geometry, large low-feature surfaces, and deep areas, while Wi-Fi 6 transmits data wirelessly. The system is designed for digitizing parts, reverse engineering, automotive 3D scanning, creating 3D models, and working with objects of various scales.

Main Advantages of Trackit SR Standard Edition

  • Optical tracking without markers on parts. The operator can move the Scanner around the object without pre-attaching markers to its surface in Tracking Mode. The Tracker determines the spatial position of the Scanner in real-time.
  • Single-frame Accuracy 0.02 mm. This parameter characterizes the accuracy of a single scan frame. It is provided separately from Fused Point Distance and the volumetric accuracy of the tracking system.
  • Fast 3D data collection. The maximum speed is 2,000,000 points/s, reducing the time for capturing geometry of extensive surfaces.
  • Three blue laser modes. Fine Mode operates with 30 cross lines, Far Mode with 17 parallel lines, and Deep Hole Mode with one line.
  • Wireless data transmission. Wi-Fi 6 allows removing the data transmission cable when moving the operator around the object.
  • Battery operation. The battery can be removed and replaced, with a claimed battery life of up to 2.5 hours.
  • Mobile design and outdoor work. The Scanner weighs 1 kg, the Tracker 1.5 kg; Trackit SR scanning is possible under lighting up to 100,000 lux.
Key features of the Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition 3D scanner
Revopoint Trackit SR: three scanning modes, high accuracy, wireless operation, markerless scanning, and support for objects of various sizes.

Optical Tracking and Markerless Scanning

In Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition, in Track Scan mode, the position of the handheld Scanner is determined by the Tracker, which tracks its movement in the workspace in real-time. Thanks to optical tracking, the object's geometry can be scanned without markers on its surface, simplifying work with large parts, complex surfaces, and objects where attaching markers is undesirable or inconvenient.

Markers are used only in specific scenarios. If the Scanner operates independently in Marker Scan Mode, they are placed on the object's surface for correct frame alignment. They can also be used during Multi-position Scan as common global coordinates for aligning data after changing the Tracker's position.

The Trackit SR Standard Edition package includes 20 magnetic and 200 adhesive markers, allowing the user to choose the optimal scanning scheme depending on the object and specific task.

Three Laser Scanning Modes

  • Fine Mode — 30 cross blue laser lines. This mode is intended for detailed and fast geometry capture. It allows scanning black, reflective, and metallic surfaces without using markers.
  • Far Mode — 17 parallel blue laser lines. This mode is designed for fast scanning of larger objects and has an increased working distance of 250–500 mm. It is suitable for large parts and surfaces with few distinctive geometric features.
  • Deep Hole Mode — 1 blue laser line. One laser line allows scanning narrow areas, deep holes, and grooves where a multi-line scheme finds it harder to obtain complete data. The working distance in this mode is 200–400 mm.

Accuracy and Speed of 3D Scanning

Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition provides volumetric accuracy of optical tracking 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m), and the single-frame accuracy of the Scanner is 0.02 mm. The maximum data collection speed reaches 2,000,000 points/s, allowing quick digitization of parts with complex geometry. The Tracker operates at a distance of 800–2500 mm and forms a tracking working volume of up to 3 m³, while the working distance of the Scanner depends on the chosen laser mode and is approximately 200–500 mm.

Wireless Operation and Mobility

Trackit SR supports Wi-Fi 6, allowing the Scanner and Tracker to transmit data to a PC without constant cable connection. This simplifies the operator's movement around large parts and makes the scanning process more convenient. The Scanner is equipped with a replaceable battery with a claimed autonomy of up to 2.5 hours, and if necessary, it can operate separately from the Tracker in marker scanning mode.

Standard Edition Software

The Revo Track software is used for scanning and processing the obtained data, supporting the creation, editing, and export of 3D models in popular formats. Revo Measure, Ball Plate, and other CMM accessories are not included in the Standard Edition, as they are provided for a separate CMM Edition package. Thus, the Standard Edition is primarily focused on precise 3D scanning, digitizing parts, and further work with the obtained models.

Where Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is Used

Revopoint Trackit SR is suitable for tasks where it is necessary not only to create a 3D model of an object but also to verify its dimensions and geometry. The scanner can be used for:

  • geometry control of parts based on 3D scanning results;
  • quality control of manufactured components;
  • reverse engineering of parts and assemblies;
  • digitizing industrial components;
  • checking products after manufacturing;
  • creating 3D models of physical parts for further engineering work.

How to Start Working with Trackit SR

Before scanning, you need to choose a working scheme, check the mutual position of the main modules, and determine whether markers are needed. The main scanning and calibration operations are performed through Revo Track. In this video, we will review the main steps for preparing Trackit SR for scanning.

Practical Recommendations

  • Control the position of the Tracker. During Tracking Mode, the Scanner must remain in the tracking area and within the permissible range of 800–2500 mm.
  • Prepare markers for Standalone Marker Scan Mode. Without them, the necessary frame alignment is not performed in this format.
  • Provide common reference points when repositioning the Tracker. In a multi-position scheme, markers can serve as global coordinates for data merging.
  • Monitor the Scanner's charge. The claimed battery life is up to 2.5 hours, and the Standard Edition includes two batteries and a charger.
