Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition 3D Scanner with Optical Tracking
Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is a laser 3D scanning system with a scanner and Tracker that tracks the spatial position of the scanner in real-time. In optical tracking mode, the operator can scan without attaching markers to the surface of the part. The CMM Edition version differs from the Standard Edition with additional accessories and a one-year Revo Measure license for measurements, quality control, and engineering inspection of scanned parts.
Advantages of Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition
- Optical tracking without markers on the part. The operator spends less time preparing the surface in Track Scan. The Tracker determines the spatial position of the Scanner in real-time, so markers on the object are not needed in this mode.
- Metrological parameters of the tracking system. A scanner for tasks where it is necessary to control geometry deviations based on 3D data. The volumetric accuracy of the tracking system is 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm.
- High-speed geometry collection. Trackit SR allows for the rapid collection of 3D data from parts of various sizes. The maximum scanning speed is stated at 2,000,000 points/s.
- Three blue laser schemes. The operator can select a mode based on detail, size, or complex recesses. Fine Mode works with 30 cross lines, Far Mode with 17 parallel lines, and Deep Hole Mode with one blue line.
- Wireless data transmission. Wi-Fi 6 allows connecting both the PC and Scanner and Tracker without a wired connection to the computer. The scanner's battery can be replaced, and the declared battery life is up to 2.5 hours.
- Working with parts of different sizes. The system is designed for digitizing both small components and large products. The recommended size of objects is from 0.01 to 4 m.
- Revo Measure in CMM Edition. After scanning, data can be transferred to software for measurements and engineering inspection. CMM Edition includes a one-year Revo Measure license.
Optical Tracking and Scanning Without Markers
In Track Scan, the position of the handheld scanner is determined by the Tracker: it tracks the Scanner in the workspace in real-time. This allows geometry to be captured without markers directly attached to the object's surface. This scheme is especially useful during 3D scanning of parts where it is impossible to place stickers or spend time applying them.
At the same time, markers are needed in certain modes. If the Scanner operates independently in Marker Scan Mode, they are placed on the object for proper data alignment. The kit includes magnetic and adhesive markers, so the scanning method can be chosen for a specific task.
Three Laser Scanning Modes
- Fine Mode — 30 cross blue laser lines. The mode is designed for detailed and fast geometry capture. It allows scanning black, reflective, and metallic surfaces without using markers.
- Far Mode — 17 parallel blue laser lines. The mode is designed for fast scanning of larger objects and has an increased working distance of 250–500 mm. It is suitable for large parts and surfaces with few distinct geometric features.
- Deep Hole Mode — 1 blue laser line. One laser line allows scanning narrow areas, deep holes, and grooves where a multi-line scheme has difficulty obtaining complete data. The working distance in this mode is 200–400 mm.
Accuracy and Speed of 3D Scanning
The optical tracking system has a stated volumetric accuracy of 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m), where L is specified in meters. This parameter should be distinguished from the single-frame accuracy of the Scanner, for which the manufacturer's table shows 0.02 mm. The maximum data collection speed is 2,000,000 points/s.
The Tracker operates at a distance of 800–2500 mm and forms a tracking volume of 3 m³. These parameters define the working area within which the system determines the position of the Scanner. For the scanner itself, the working distance depends on the laser scheme: 200–400 mm for cross lines, 250–500 mm for parallel lines, and 200–400 mm for a single line.
Wireless Operation and Mobility
Trackit SR supports Wi-Fi 6 for wireless connection of the Scanner and Tracker to a PC. This reduces the number of cables between the operator and the computer and simplifies movement around the part during scanning.
The scanner operates on a battery that can be removed and replaced with another charged one. The declared operating time is up to 2.5 hours. The manufacturer also indicates an autonomous mode for the Scanner for separate scanning with markers, meaning in such a scenario, the operator can work without the Tracker.
CMM Edition and Revo Measure
CMM Edition is built on the Standard Edition kit and adds a Ball Plate, Battery Grip, power cable for the Battery Grip, and a one-year Revo Measure license. Revo Measure on the kit page supports Windows 10/11.
Revo Measure helps use the results of 3D scanning to check the dimensions and shape of parts. Therefore, CMM Edition is convenient for quality control, comparing parts, and checking their geometry after scanning.
Where Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is Used
Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is suitable for tasks where it is necessary not only to create a 3D model of an object but also to check its dimensions and geometry. The scanner can be used for:
- controlling the geometry of parts based on 3D scanning results;
- quality control of manufactured components;
- 3D measurement and engineering inspection of scanned data in Revo Measure;
- reverse engineering of parts and assemblies;
- digitizing industrial components;
- checking products after manufacturing;
- creating 3D models of physical parts for further engineering work.

Tips for Working with Trackit SR
- Keep the Tracker within the working range. The distance from the Tracker to the working area should remain within 800–2500 mm.
- Do not abandon markers where marker mode is needed. Markerless operation applies to Track Scan with optical tracking; autonomous scanning of the Scanner involves markers.
- Check calibration before measurement. The Tracker supports manual calibration, and the kit includes a calibration plate, stand, and automatic dual-axis suspension.
- Monitor the power supply. The Standard Edition includes two Scanner batteries and a charger, while the CMM Edition additionally contains a Battery Grip and its cable.
- Follow laser safety rules. Do not look directly into the laser beam up close and do not place mirrors or glass in its path.
