Buy ABS Plastic in Assortment
Due to its properties, it is an excellent material for 3D printing and prototyping. Models obtained from ABS plastic are extremely durable but poorly tolerate sunlight. It is also not possible to obtain a high degree of transparency with ABS. Nevertheless, this material is of high quality in many parameters. And you can buy ABS plastic in assortment in our store.
Weight 0.750 grams.
Properties of ABS Plastic
- Increased impact resistance and elasticity;
- Non-toxicity;
- Durability;
- Resistance to alkalis, acids, oils;
- Moisture resistance;
- Heat resistance;
- Dissolves in acetone;
- Wide range of operating temperatures for finished products (from -40 °C to +90 °C).
Disadvantages:
- Instability to organic solvents;
- Low light resistance;
- Low adhesion between layers.
There is a risk of material particles sticking to each other and to the printer's working area. That is why modern 3D printers are equipped with heated worktables. Another way to avoid model sticking is to use thermal tape (Kapton). Sometimes the working surface is also coated with a solution of plastic in acetone. However, when printing fragile models, it is still better to use Kapton.
There is a possibility of model deformation during cooling when creating a large object. The problem is solved by printing the model in parts with subsequent gluing of the parts.
