Open 3D Printer Dowell DM6 Plus

Dowell DM6 Plus 600 × 600 × 600 mm is an industrial open-type FDM printer, designed for large-scale prototyping, furniture mold making, sculptures, and engineering components. With an extruder heating up to 380 °C and a high printing speed of up to 500 mm/s, the equipment ensures rapid 3D model printing when working with a wide range of filaments. The print volume of 600 × 600 × 600 mm allows for the creation of integral functional parts, minimizing costs on further assembly and gluing.

Kinematics and Structural Stability

The Dowell DM Plus series of 3D printers is built on a reinforced aluminum profile base with a thickness of 60 mm, providing rigidity and frame stability under intensive loads. High positioning accuracy is achieved through the use of professional mechanical units:

  • XY Axes: implemented on precision linear guides, ensuring geometry stability at speeds up to 500 mm/s.
  • Z Axis: uses 12 mm screw rods and stepper motors for precise layer step control.
  • Quiet operation: thanks to noiseless drivers, the noise level during operation is about 60 dB, allowing comfortable use of the equipment in production premises.

Extruder with Heating up to 380°C

The printer is equipped with an industrial single-stage heating system designed for continuous filament feed with a flow rate of up to 400 g/h, ensuring stable build speed and uniform wall structure of models.

  • Working temperatures of the extruder: the nozzle heats up to 380°C, opening up the possibility of working not only with basic plastics but also with engineering filaments such as nylon PA, carbon fiber CF, glass fiber GF, as well as ASA and PC.
  • Versatility of nozzles: supports diameters of 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 mm, allowing flexible balancing between detail and speed of filling the internal volume of the 3D model.

Thermally Stable Work Platform

The stability of the geometric parameters of the part and reliable adhesion of the first layers are ensured by a glass surface combined with a silicone heating element for quick and even heat distribution.

  • Tempered glass and silicone heating panel: the standard configuration includes a worktable consisting of 6-mm tempered glass and a Silicone Heating Plate. This design ensures quick heating of the table, stable temperature across the surface, perfect flatness, and resistance to deformation. Finished products easily detach after complete cooling.
  • Working temperatures of the platform: the worktable heats up to 100°C in the standard version (optionally, heating up to 150°C can be ordered). This is a critically important factor for ensuring adhesion and preventing shrinkage when working with engineering plastics such as ABS, Nylon, or PC.

Automation and Control Interface

To ensure stable repeatability of results and high accuracy of each operation, the Dowell DM Plus integrates an extended set of service functions.

  • Automatic leveling: the automatic calibration system over 100 points first detects four corners and then performs a detailed scan of the table plane. It automatically compensates for irregularities, ensuring perfect flatness before each task.
  • Filament sensor: the system automatically pauses the process if the filament runs out or the thread breaks.
  • Automatic print recovery: after power loss and restoration allows resuming work from the point of interruption.
  • Control monitor: the device is equipped with a 7-inch full-color touchscreen with a user-friendly interface. Wi-Fi connection provides convenient file transfer for printing.

Operational Control and Monitoring Tools

  • Real-time adjustment: the ability to change speed, extrusion parameters, and cooling intensity directly during operation.
  • Process visualization: tracking the print status and temperature change graph in real time.
  • Working with code: integrated G-code viewer and configuration editing capability.
  • Precise tuning: Z-axis offset correction and access to record history.
  • Safety and upgrades: presence of an emergency stop button and a connector for installing an external camera.
