Rosa3D Flex 96A filament is a thermoplastic polyurethane. It is designed for intermediate level 3D printer users who want to start their adventure in printing with flexible materials. Flex 96A is solid enough to print even on printers with Bowden feeder systems. In addition, it does not require a closed chamber and easily adheres to many build surfaces (e.g. glass, smooth PEI, textured PEI, aluminum).

Flex 96A has excellent interlayer adhesion. TPU filament is ideal if you need elements that are resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. The prints can be compressed and stretched many times without permanently changing their original shape.

It is a durable technical material that is resistant to oils, grease, and many solvents. A complete chemical resistance table can be found at the end of the page.

Moreover, Flex 96A is made of components approved for food contact, which complies with FDA 21CFR177.2600 and Commission Amendment (EU) 10/2011. For products that come into contact with food, the certification is carried out by the manufacturer of the final product.

  • Extrusion temperature: 220 – 250 °С.

  • Printing speed: 15 – 50 mm/s (we recommend starting slowly and gradually increasing the speed).
  • Compatible worktables: glass, smooth PEI, textured PEI. The material has good adhesion to the above surfaces, but in case of problems, we recommend using adhesives.
  • Does not require a closed chamber.
  • The filament can be printed on both Direct and Bowden printers.

 

Ways to solve some problems in printing

Flexible filaments can be capricious in 3D printing. If you are having trouble extruding the filament, try the following:

  • loosen the screw that regulates the level of pressure of the knurl on the filament feed roller;
  • reduce printing speed;
  • install a Teflon tube sealing the filament feeding path (photo).
