Plastic Nylon Plexiwire

NYLON plastic Plexiwire 1.75 mm is a professional engineering filament designed for creating parts that operate under extreme loads. This nylon (copolymer polyamide PA6/66) is distinguished by exceptional strength, wear resistance, and low friction coefficient. Due to its ability to withstand high temperatures and resistance to aggressive chemicals, this material is the standard for industrial prototyping and manufacturing functional machine and mechanism components.

Advantages of NYLON filament

Choosing nylon from Plexiwire ensures industrial-quality products thanks to its unique characteristics:

  • High anti-friction properties. The material has a low wear coefficient, making it ideal for parts that are in constant motion and friction.
  • Exceptional strength. Nylon parts are durable, impact-resistant, and tear-resistant, capable of withstanding significant mechanical loads.
  • Chemical resistance. The material is inert to most organic solvents, lubricants, fuels, and aggressive environments.
  • Mechanical processing. After printing, products are easily processed (drilling, grinding, threading), bringing them closer in properties to metal parts.
  • Temperature stability. NYLON retains its properties over a wide temperature range without losing rigidity.

Application options

Thanks to its engineering properties, NYLON Plexiwire is indispensable in areas where ordinary plastics cannot withstand loads:

  • Mechanical engineering: gears, couplings, bushings, sliding bearings, and rollers.
  • Automotive and aviation industries: functional engine components, fasteners, and power elements.
  • Medicine: production of prostheses and orthopedic components.
  • Food industry: conveyor and equipment parts requiring chemical resistance.
  • Engineering enclosures: protective shells for systems operating under high pressure or in aggressive environments.

Technical tips

NYLON is a complex engineering plastic that requires special printing conditions. For successful results, follow these recommendations:

  • Temperature regime: nozzle 250°C – 265°C, platform 100°C – 120°C.
  • Drying and storage: this is the most hygroscopic material. Nylon instantly absorbs moisture from the air, so it must be dried immediately before printing and stored in airtight containers with a desiccant.
  • Adhesion and chamber: the material has a high shrinkage coefficient. It is recommended to use a printer with a closed chamber and to turn off model cooling to prevent deformation and delamination.
  • Model size: due to significant thermal shrinkage, nylon is best suited for printing small or medium-sized parts without sharp geometric inclines.
  • Printing speed: for better layer fusion and dimensional stability, use a medium speed — from 25 to 50 mm/s.
