Markforged Carbon Fiber CFF: 3D Printing of Metal-Strength Parts
The filament Markforged Carbon Fiber CFF is a continuous carbon fiber that allows printing parts with metal-like strength. It is used in combination with a composite base, creating the foundation of an extremely strong printed part. This unique solution provides high stiffness and strength, allowing the creation of parts capable of withstanding high loads.
Key Features and Capabilities
Markforged Carbon Fiber is an ultra-strong continuous fiber that, when combined with the Onyx composite base, can create parts with strength similar to 6061-T6 aluminum. Therefore, it is ideal for various geometries that can be automatically laid by Markforged 3D printers.
- Compatibility: Printing on 3D printers FX10™, FX20™, Mark Two™, X7™ - high precision and stable repeatability of Markforged parts.
- Compatibility with composites: To enhance the strength of printed elements from Onyx™, Vega™, and ULTEM™ 9085 filaments.
- Flexural strength: 540 MPa.
- Flexural stiffness: 60 GPa.
- Volume: 150cc.

Plastics
Composite Base filaments are engineering-grade materials that print using a conventional FFF (FDM-style) process. Print with them alone or with Continuous Fibers to yield strong parts. The ULTEM™ and 9085 trademarks are used under license from SABIC, its affiliates or subsidiaries.
Continuous Fiber
Continuous Fibers enable Markforged composite printers to print metal-strength parts. They cannot be used alone — however, when printed with a Composite Base, they form the backbone of a strong printed part.
