3D Printing Ford! At first glance, the idea of 3D printing your own Ford car may seem like a flashy news story. But no, you can actually print your own miniature version of five different Ford models right now.

Ford has launched a 3D store where you can purchase a wide range of 3D printed models in a single color (blue PLA), or download the STL file to print at home. All orders are fulfilled through TurboSquid, an online platform for 3D models.

Customers can now get their hands on miniature versions of: F-150 Raptor, Focus RS, Focus ST, Fiesta ST; priced at $39 for the printed model or $4.99 for the digital file. The Limited Edition includes the Ford GT, created in collaboration with Forza Motorsport 6 for the 2015 E3 Expo. This special edition is made using full-color printing and comes with a unique box for $230.
This is not the first time Ford has experimented with 3D printing, as the company has been using the technology for prototyping parts for many years. Recently, the automaker was selected for access to Carbon 3D’s CLIP technology, arguably the fastest method of 3D printing. This technology has also been tested by Hollywood special effects company Legacy Effects.
